Infant Center

Welcome to Spirit Infant Center

Spirit Infant Center is located near downtown Los Angeles, within walking distance of the University of Southern California along the Jefferson Boulevard Corridor. We are committed to the nurturing and positive development of the infants and toddlers entrusted to our care. We believe that infant care is best provided in a small, home like setting that also serves as a gentle introduction to early childhood education.

Programs Offered

  • Infants (6 weeks -12 months)

Infants change on a daily basis. Our goal is to provide each child with an experience that is a seamless transition from home to the Center. Our days are filled with fun and discovery. We respect each child’s unique personality and we seek to nurture their development as they grow under our care. The infants are transitioned through appropriate gross motor and fine motor developmental activities that are both stimulating and fun, as they are able. We view ourselves as direct partners with the parents in the circle of care involving their infant.

  • Toddlers (12 months – 24 months)

As our infants transition to the toddler stage of their development, their personalities continue to emerge, sometimes by leaps and bounds. Along with the emergence of their personalities, so does their need to explore their environment. During this phase of their development, every aspect of their development tends to “explode”. Toddlers are typically curious, and excited about exploring and learning new things. Their vocabulary expands, and the children thrive when engaging in learning activities that are masked as play time. We subscribe to the notion that true learning is a messy process, rather than a linear process, and that it involves all of the children’s senses. Taste, touch and smell are as essential as seeing, speaking and listening. We maintain a safe, nurturing environment that encourages learning, exploration, and discovery.

  • Early Intervention (6 weeks to 24 months)
    • Center-Based – half-day program (A.M. or P.M.) includes enhancing cognitive development and reaching developmental milestones through small group instruction; structured learning through play, social skills development, and positive behavioral development. The instruction is designed to meet specific goals and objectives based on the IFSP provided during the enrollment process for each authorized consumer
    • Mommy & Me – half-day program (A.M. or P.M.) – provides guidance, direction, support and instruction for parents with children age 0 to 3 with special needs. Parents are assisted in moving their child toward reaching specific developmental milestones, goals and objectives.
    • One-to-One
    • Speech & Language Therapy
    • Occupational Therapy
