“Our mission is to develop intuitive confident children who are empowered cognitively, socially, and physically by supportive staff through the use of creative, innovative, and age appropriate teaching techniques.”
Welcome to Spirit Child Development Center (Spirit CDC), Spirit Early Intervention Program (Spirit EIP), and Spirit Infant Center – Comprehensive Preschool and Child Development Centers centrally located in two locations adjacent to the University of Southern California (USC), Arlington Heights and Crenshaw Manor.
Spirit CDC is a non-profit organization. We are a licensed day care center designed to provide an engaging preschool experience for children, ages 2 years – first grade entry (6 years). We are focused on the development of the whole child, meaning that we believe that preschool age children develop best in an environment that inspires curiosity, learning and creativity while emphasizing the importance of the values (sharing, cooperation, etc.) that are essential for their readiness to transition to their next academic setting.
Spirit Early Intervention Program is a comprehensive therapeutic early education program for children 0-3 years who have been assessed with a special need. Our program provides a unique setting for our consumers, in that our services are provided in an integrated design, regularly integrating with typically developing children; within the context of a fully natural environment. Research suggests that early childhood education is pivotal for all children for their social, behavioral, and academic success. We are structured to minimize and mitigate ability differences in an effort to encourage full inclusion as much as possible.
Spirit Infant Center caters to the needs of infants, age 6 weeks to 24 months. The Infant Center environment is nestled in a small home-like setting that focuses on the healthy development of the children and embodies the notion of providing a great beginning in a stimulating yet nurturing atmosphere.
Spirit embraces the best of early childhood education curricula and combines it with the optimum learning environment for all children, regardless of their development age, stage, and/or ability.
